September 15th, 2012

Back in September Eric and I tied the knot. It was such a hectic, fun and beautiful weekend with the people we hold closest to our hearts. We couldn't ask for more.

During the planning stages we originally wanted to have a simple, small (8 people) outdoor ceremony in Seattle, WA where we currently live. But then I started being honest with myself and I really wanted my family there, especially my grandmother. Not to mention an outdoor wedding in Seattle is hard to plan in advance. The weather changes every 15 minutes.

Round two of planning turned into something much bigger. 150 people in Sacramento, CA! We're both from Sacramento and have a lot of shared friends as well as large families. Then people we didn't even know were getting invited, and it just started feeling so impersonal. We quickly ditched that idea simply because it wasn't for us.

Round three of planning: keep it small, personal and involve our friends and family. This is what we came up with.... Get our best friend Jesse ordained, have the ceremony in the park (Southside Park), lunch at one of our favorite restaurants (Fox and Goose), and drinks with everyone of age at Shady Lady.

It was perfect! Everyone had a great time and it was absolutely beautiful!  We couldn't have asked for anything more.
